這場比賽兩軍形成投手戰，光芒隊先發投手Chris Archer前5局都讓洋基隊無功而返。
不過6局下洋基隊找到突破點，Jacoby Ellsbury2分彈突破僵局，捕手Gary Sanchez也擊出「背靠背」全壘打，洋基隊單局攻下3分。
田中將大一路投到8局，才被Bobby Wilson的陽春彈失分，田中將大共投102球完成任務。
